The SDAPHCC is passionate about providing education and training to its members.
PHCC National has created a COVID-19 Resource Center to offer valuable information to members as the country faces the challenges of the coronavirus. The SDAPHCC Apprentice Program offers members the opportunity to train their employees in plumbing, HVAC, or sheet metal.
SDAPHCC also offers members the opportunity to train employees online through an eLearning Apprentice program.
The SDAPHCC postponed the Medical Gas Certification Course that was scheduled to be held on March 23-26, 2020 in Sioux Falls, SD. The association hopes to reschedule the course for this fall if possible.
If the course is rescheduled, there are still spots available. The tuition fee is $1,250 per person for PHCC members and $1,450 per person for non-PHCC members. Contact the SDAPHCC Office if you are interested in registering.

Each March, the SDAPHCC in partnership with IAPMO, hosts Continuing Education courses for plumbing contractors and journeymen. Eighteen courses are scheduled across South Dakota and northwest Iowa. These courses are approved by the South Dakota Plumbing Commission and fulfill the continuing education requirement for license renewal.

The SDAPHCC Educational Foundation strives to elevate the p-h-c industry by providing scholarships to young people pursuing a p-h-c career. Each year, the Foundation seeks to award 2 scholarships.
All applicants must be a senior in high school or a freshman in college and must be sponsored by a member of the SDAPHCC. The deadline for applications and supporting materials is December 31.

Each year, SDAPHCC hosts an Apprentice Competition in conjunction with the Annual Convention.
There are 2 divisions - Plumbing and HVAC
Apprentices take a written test prior to the convention. The top 3 highest scores in each division, compete in a hands-on competition at convention. The winner of each division then advances to the national competition at the national convention.
This event engages apprentices and allows them to showcase their knowledge and skill. Registration for the contest occurs in November/December.
