SUMMARY:Apprentice Contest – Written Test – Rapid City, Sioux Falls & Pierre
DESCRIPTION:The South Dakota Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors would like to invite you to enter one or more apprentices in our Annual Apprentice Competition.  Apprentices can compete in either the Plumbing or HVAC Division.\n \nAll apprentices will first compete in a written competition.  The top three apprentices in each division will advance to the hands-on competition at the Annual SDAPHCC State Convention on February 24-27 at The Lodge, Deadwood, SD.  The first-place winner in each division of the hands-on competition will win a trip to compete in the National PHCC Competition.\n \nIn an effort to make it easier for more apprentices to compete, the written test will be administered at 4 locations throughout SD.  Testing will occur at 1pm on Friday, December 12, in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Pierre, and Watertown.\nWritten Competition Details\n\nHeld at 1pm on December 12 in Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Pierre, and Watertown.\n\nRapid City Location: 3536 Eglin St (Midwestern Mechanical)\nSioux Falls Location: 712 E 3rd St (Howe, Inc)\nPierre Location: 1802 E Dakota Ave (Wheelhouse Plumbing)\nWatertown Location: 9 N Maple (Andor, Inc/Taecker Plumbing & Heating)\n\n\nWritten Test Schedule\n\n12:45 pm – Contestants Arrive and Check In\n1:00 pm – Testing Starts (no exceptions or late starts)\n3:00 pm – Testing Ends\n\n\nIMPORTANT NOTE: Contestants will need to provide a driver’s license or other valid picture ID at the time of testing.\nTests will be graded at a later date and results will be issued within the next few weeks.\nIn the case of a tie, the time that the test was turned in will be the tie breaker with the shortest test time as the winner.\n\nClick Here to learn more\nRegistration for the 2025 Competition closed on December 5, 2025.\n
